So, we've seen a lot of things in rescue, but this girl is a truly special one. She came to us at about 6-8 weeks old. At that time, she weighed seven ounces (to give some perspective a kitten weighs about three to four ounces at birth, she was two months old). She was so very underdeveloped that we couldn't even tell if she was a boy or a girl (not even the vet). We were determined to give her every chance possible but knew that this would be touch and go for a while and that her condition was guarded at best. Her devoted foster mom tube fed her every two hours around the clock for several weeks and slowly but surely she started gaining weight and looking less like an orange bat and more like a kitten. She started romping around and playing with the other cats in the house and staking claim to the big kid beds. She also decided that eating food was a good thing and now does so like a champ. Her most endearing quality is that she likes to sit perched on her foster mom's shoulder nestled in her hair for hours on end. She gives kisses and nibbles her ear. She is so very grateful to be alive and is living it to the fullest. We realize that she still looks very tiny (kinda like a tennis ball on toothpicks) and frail and we are currently doing "pre-adoptions" as she is not quite ready to go, but she is a strong, healthy, very funny little girl that is going to make someone a perfect friend and companion. She will likely be happiest with someone who is home a lot and doesn't have a lot of other animals. She has grown accustomed to being the center of attention and because of her situation she hasn't been around other kittens and doesn't really care to be. So, if you think you are the right person for this VERY special little girl, please complete our application at www.FLUFFNashville.org.
Note: the second pic is her when she arrived, just for perspective.
