Presley is going to need a very special person. The precious six-month-old kitten was brought to a local shelter by a Good Samaritan who found him horribly matted, no, pelted in a potted plant outside her home. They couldn't touch him at the shelter and had him in a feral box. Since there are no purebred Persian feral colonies in Nashville, we knew he was just absolutely terrified. So, we pulled him got him examined, clipped that pelt off (along with a couple of other extra little things he wasn't going to need anymore either), and brought him home to relax. This poor baby was very confused and seriously scared of everyone and everything. It turned out that only one of his little testicles had decided to make an appearance so our best guess is that someone bought him to be a breeder and realized that running at 50% that wasn't going to happen and dumped him. We have spent the last month working with him, slowly gaining his trust and helping him learn that not all people are like whatever his past experiences were and that he is safe now. He has come a long way but is still leery. After slow, proper introductions, he has met the other friendly cats in the household and he likes them too. This is why it is going to take a special person. Presley is going to need someone who is willing to take the baton from us, follow our guidance, continue our work, be very patient, have the right environment and the rewards will be AMAZING! Trust us! We can tell you that the feeling when he decides to trust you is a really good one. When he knows he is safe with you and starts to play, and purr, and give kisses, it just feels so good it is worth the effort of taking it slow. He has come so far, we think it might be time for us to try to start finding this special person.
