Both of these beautiful girls were dealt a cruel lot in life. Wine is the one on the right. She is a 5-year-old sweet and loving and wonderful kitty but the person who was her breeder didn't believe in testing her cats for a genetic disease called PKD (polycystic kidney disease). This is a disease that is passed down if either parent carries the gene and guarantees their offspring will have it. So, both girls in the picture have it. They are not currently symptomatic or sick at all, but ultrasound does show that they have cysts on their kidneys. In spite of their diagnosis (of which they are blissfully unaware) they are sweet, loving, playful, happy girls who deserve to live the happiest of lives possible for however long that may be. Unfortunately, that, we cannot predict, which is why we have listed them as special needs. Additionally, Wine has had an extra tough go of it because she was also born pretty much with no nose. It has required multiple surgeries to help her be able to breathe and honestly, we weren't sure we were going to be successful. Fortunately, the last one was a successful surgery. It may not look like it when you see her, but trust us, she is SO much better off than she was. So, try to focus on her inner beauty and sweetness and give her all the love in the world because none of this was her fault or fair.
