Burt and Ernie are the sweetest little pair! They came to us from a local county shelter who reached out to us because these two are special. They are a bit wobbly and after treating for many of the other possible causes, we believe they have CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). This is generally caused by exposure to the virus or vaccine for panleukopenia in utero. The good thing about this diagnosis is that it is not progressive. It does not make them ill nor is it life threatening. It simply makes them wobbly.
These boys need no special accommodations. They eat, get around, and use litter boxes just fine. They are just a little different and there is nothing wrong with different. They are not likely to be great jumpers, so you probably won't have to deal with them on your counters, so that could be a bonus!
They are very sweet boys and we feel like they need to stay together. Burt is a little more confident than Ernie, so they probably need each other.
